E Safety

We promote the use of technology in school and at home. Having access to online resources and learning has many fantastic benefits, however we also need to be aware of the potential risks that exist online.

Thinkuknow are an online safety provider who are producing 15 minute internet safety home activity packs for different age groups. We would encourage all families to explore these learning resources with their children to raise awareness for all around how to keep safe when learning from home on digital devices.

E-Safety Support for 4-7 year olds

If you have a concern for the safety of a child during the school closure that you should call the school , email your concern to admin@northburn.northumberland.sch.uk, or you can report it directly to CEOP here: CEOP Reporting

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Clare Scott.  Miss Natalie Harrison is our Deputy Safeguarding Lead and also our Online Safety Lead.  Please report any concerns as soon as possible.

Online safety is so important to us. We believe that all children have the right to feel safe and secure when using different types of digital technology.

By embedding online safety across our curriculum, we aim to empower children to use the internet and other technologies safely and responsibly. We ensure that all children know what to do if they are uncomfortable with anything they see, hear or experience online and teach them the correct way to report it.

If a child feels uncomfortable with anything they have seen, experienced or know of a peer that they may be concerned about online, then we encourage them to follow these simple steps:

If something doesn’t feel right… it probably isn’t.

Tell an adult you trust straight away.

Please refer to the THINKUKNOW website for information relating to the different types of internet usage and how to safeguard your child. www.thinkuknow.co.uk

Child Exploitation and Online Protection

CEOP helps any child or young person under the age of 18 who is being pressured, forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity of any kind. This can be something that has taken place either online or in ‘the real world’, or both. The CEOP Safety Centre has clear information and advice on what can be reported to CEOP, the reporting process and what will happen if you do decide to make a report.
